How to measure for Roman blinds
INSIDE RECESS ROMAN BLIND
How to Measure an Inside Recess Roman Blind?
First measure the width and then the drop of your window.
To measure the width of the window recess, take three measurements at different points from wall to wall, inside the window recess and write down the smallest measurement.
To measure the drop, take three measurements at different points of your window recess, from top to sill and write down the smallest measurement.
Both these measurements taken together are called the 'Inside Recess' (See fig. 1).

OUTSIDE RECESS ROMAN BLIND
How to Measure for an Outside Recess Roman Blind?
For an outside recess Roman Blind, you need to measure the width and the drop that you would like for your Roman Blind.
To measure the width, first decide, by how much you would like your blind to overlap the outside of the window recess. Then take a measurement from left to right across, where you want your width of the blind to be.
To measure the drop, decide by how much you would like your blind to vertically overlap the outside of the window recess. Then take a measurement from your desired fixing position of the blind to the point below the sill where you want your blind to reach.
Both these measurements taken together are called the 'Outside Recess' (See fig. 2).
